Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has expressed his desire to add another central defender to his squad this summer.
Blues recently announced the addition of mark cucurella From Brighton, Kalidou Koulibaly also arrived from Napoli in the first window.
However, Tuchel admitted that Chelsea may need to further strengthen their defensive ranks after missing out on a deal for Barcelona defender Jules Condé.
When asked why the Blues ended Kaunde’s chase, the German replied: “That César Azpilicueta stayed, actually in the best position for Jules Kaunde, these talks had an effect and if we played in the back three.” If so, this is also the position of Trevoh Chaloba.
“Marco” [Cucurella] Can play in back three on the left, Kalidaus [Koulibaly] One can play to the left of the three. Thiago Silva, who is not Benjamin Button and is not getting younger, unfortunately, even if it sometimes seems so.
“Maybe we bring in another player, maybe not. Nevertheless, we still have Malang Sarr and Ethan Ampadu with us. We have options but at the same time we know how many games are coming. So let’s see if we can sign any player.”
